Rutledge's Tax Policy

Jim Rutledge will advocate to abolish the current tax code and replacing it with a flat tax.

That flat tax would be for individuals and corporations, between the 10% and 15% range. A simple, low flat rate without the complexities of the current law will boost private sector job creation and strengthen our economy.

We must ensure the federal government operates within its legitimate role under the Constitution. Naturally, this will reduce the size of government, therefore, reduces overall spending.

Lest we forget that Marx's Communist Manifesto to take over the world stated,
"A heavy progressive or graduated income tax."

Abolish inheritance taxes.

"Abolition of all rights of inheritance."

Abolish the capital gains tax to kick start the economy without borrowing from China and Saudi Arabia.

Stop paying "tax refunds" to people who do not pay taxes.

Enforce the immigration laws to reduce the number of non-taxpaying illegal aliens that live "off the grid" while using resources paid for by the citizens.

Rutledge supports rational policies for spending your federal taxes that are consistent with the proper role of the federal government.

Stop reckless spending.

Congress has a solemn duty of loyalty to the citizens of the United States to restrain themselves from reckless spending, and part of that duty requires a clear understanding of the proper spheres of spending. The legitimate role of the federal government is a forgotten debate that must be revived, or else freedom will be lost forever.

National Defense - Air, Land, Space & Sea.

No role of the federal government is more vital to freedom than a strong and technologically superior military supported by a robust intelligence network.

Too long have our brave men and women of our Armed Forces been underpaid and ignored; too long have the guardians of freedom been treated with disdain by the haughty elite of Wall Street, Hollywood, and the Educators that have twisted history to serve their own socialist agendas.

Our Armed Forces deserve competitive pay and the best medical treatment, and America owes a debt to our veterans disabled physically and mentally in the line of duty, and our veterans' medical system should be on the cutting edge of care and compassion and deserves our full support, because they earned it.

Limit Foreign Aid & United Nations spending.

Foreign aid spending is a luxury of old world imperialism that Americans cannot afford. Foreign aid must be restricted to Nations that meet the following criteria:

• Nations that respect and protect freedom of speech as a rule of law;
• Nations that have outlawed and enforce laws against slavery, particularly the sex slave trade;
• Nations that fully cooperate with America's intelligence agencies;
• Nations that grant the US full flyover rights for our armed services.

The United Nations is an organization that is bloated with corruption and is largely hostile to American freedoms. So long as the United Nations remains a feeding ground of rogue nations and tyrannical leaders who hate America and wish to destroy your freedoms, funding with your tax dollars is neither wise nor acceptable. Congress needs leaders with enough courage to demand a national debate on America's financial support of the United Nations.

Illegal immigration is a federal matter that cannot be left to the states. The federal authorities must protect our boarders, secure our ports and airports, and prevent state and local governments from usurping federal immigration laws.

Support Energy Independence by encouraging invention, innovations, and sciences, putting an end to the regulatory and zoning laws that keep us dependent on foreign oil.

Vote for sanity in taxation and spending. Vote for Jim Rutledge for US Senator.
